The Cool Youth Club aims to provide an environment where deaf and hard of hearing young people, their siblings and the children of deaf and hard of hearing adults. Deaf Elderly Group The Deaf Elderly Group was founded in 2002 to combat the social isolation of older men and women in Cork and Kerry. Cool Youth Club The Cool Youth Club aims to provide an environment in which deaf and hard of hearing young people, their siblings and the children of adults who are deaf and hard of hearing develop social skills and self-confidence, while participating in fully accessible activities with the support of a sign language interpreter. The group meets every fortnight at the Cork Deaf Association and sometimes organizes outings and one-night trips.
It includes a variety of activities and outings for deaf and hard of hearing children and for children with deaf and hard of hearing people in their families. The Cork Deaf Association is committed to the empowerment of deaf and hard of hearing people in the city and county of Cork through the provision of information, promotion and support services. We also offer follow-up support and advice on hearing aids and adapting to hearing loss at the Cork Deaf Association. Fundraising Committee As a charity, funded in part by the HSE, the Cork Deaf Association depends heavily on raising funds to continue and develop services.
